County Meath Chamber make shortlists for the 2024 Chamber Awards

County Meath Chamber's 'Apprenticeship Expo' is in the running for Event of the Year!

The awards ceremony takes place on the 6th of June at Killashee House Hotel in Co Kildare

The annual event celebrates the work done on behalf of members in each county and this year 44 projects have been shortlisted across eight categories.

Michael Hughes, President of County Meath Chamber “The Apprenticeship Expo came about in direct response to our Chamber members request for recruitment support.  Thankfully it has evolved since its inception in 2020 and is now a flagship event for the region supporting local employers in finding and nurturing talent so that they can continue to grow their businesses and to thrive and strive in Meath.”

Paula McCaul, CEO County Meath Chamber “It’s wonderful to see The Apprenticeship Expo shortlisted as Chamber Event of the Year 2024.  It’s a fine example of what can be achieved through effective collaboration.  Thank you to our partners, our sponsors, our collaborators, our exhibitors and to schools and parents throughout the region who continue to support the event each year.  Collectively our contributions have made the Apprenticeship Expo the flagship event that is it.  We were the first to dedicate an event to showcasing apprenticeships back in 2020.  This year there are eight Apprenticeship Expo’s running across the country - 8 out of 16 regions.  Let’s continue to lead by example”.

Andrew Magee, Regional Skills Training Centre Dundalk, “LMETB are once again delighted to work in partnership with Meath Chamber to support the 5th Apprenticeship Expo on the 21st March 2024. Events such as the Apprenticeship Expo are the perfect opportunities to advertise the different options that are available and informs the next generation about the wide array of apprenticeship programs available. We can show how those age-old programs cans still provide a worthwhile and rewarding career for people. The Apprenticeship Expo is not only an enjoyable day, it’s the first step for many on their future career journey.”

Chambers Ireland’s President, Fiona Candon “The calibre of entries this year has been incredibly high and I’d like to commend each Chamber for demonstrating exceptional ambition, innovation and creativity. Chambers across the country are strong, vocal advocates for the businesses and communities they represent, and they contribute significantly to the overall growth and economic prosperity of the regions they serve.  The projects shortlisted demonstrate this focus on business advocacy, community spirit and willingness to collaborate.”

Joe Creegan, Head of Corporate Life and Pensions Ireland from Zurich says; “Zurich is proud to support the annual Chamber Awards once again. Congratulations to all the hardworking members of the Chamber network for their exceptional dedication and resilience shown over the past year. The Awards are an opportunity to celebrate the remarkable and innovative initiatives that have made a significant impact in our local communities, and we are delighted to support that effort across the country.”

The awards take place on the 6th of June at the Killashee House Hotel in Co Kildare.
